How to lose weight, when I hate health foods

How to lose weight, when I hate health foods?

I really want to lose weight before starting back to school in September. I want to try & eat healthier, cause at the minute all I really eat is junk food. The only problem is.. I HATE most healthy foods :/ I don't like ANY fruit or veg. I'm not too fussed on yogurt or anything like that. Can anyone give me any ideas of healthy food that I may like? Or any foods that will make me feel full so I'm not going to snack on junk foods?

Well vegetables are the best choice, you can try more fibrous foods to help, such as beans, higher protein foods to help, and avoid junk food.
2 :
If you don't like fruits or vegetables, your missing out on loads of valuable nutrients. Consider blending/juicing. Making egg omeletes with vegetables. Making chicken stir fry where the chicken taste overpowers the vegetables. Acknowledge the reason why your not in good shape is because you have been replacing the vegetables and fruits with junk. If you want to get over the junk, don't surround yourself with it. If that means not going to certain parts of stores, do that. Taking living healthy seriously and you will see results. It doesn't have to taste bad if you know how to cook.

jogging or running but that's harder at times than eating right . but you also mite find it fun after a while .

i always see these jenny craig commercials and it says that all you have to do is eat and run. you lose weight while eating the foods you love. usually just have eggs bacon vitams and oj for breakfast, for lunch have a sandwich with water or sprite, for a snack have a pickle or half of a stick of dark choaclate because it is good for the heart and for dinner have sparkling water with pasta or chicken. i read this stuff and this is basically what selena gomez eats but i didn't write everything it actually said. i hope this helps if it doesnt sorry!

i dont know how much weight you plan on losing, theres like 3 weeks till sept. and you really gotta get over your dislike of healthy food. you dont like any fruit? no bananas or strawberries or watermelon? how does anyone not like any fruit? i get veggies (i love corn on the cob and mashed potatoes) but that's just weird. try taking a walk around the fruit and veggie section at the store and see if theres anything you'd be willing to try. as for healthy foods.... http://www.theloseweightdiet.com/diet-foods.html good luck! i recommend doing some exercise as well if you wanna see any real difference in 3 weeks.

3 Helpful Tips 1. It is not absolutely vital to change what you eat if it is too taxing but rather one needs to modify the number of meals eaten. Optimally this should range from 6-8 meals. The reason is that fat builds up when we eat too much at once. 2. Try not to eat carbs 3 hours before bed because this too will store as fat because the energy from the carbs is not burned very much during inactivity this doesn't mean to have a low carb diet. 3. As for healthy foods - I lost 20 lbs (in 6-8 weeks) by making healthy shakes in a blender. For example a tasty blend would be: 1 cup oatmeal + 1 scoop of vanilla protein + 1-2 tbsp of organic peanut butter - you can experiment with this basic structure and add variety to it if needed but overall the aforementioned blend would be pretty complete food in regards to carbs-protein-fat ratio. Also it would count as 1 meal. If you are not eating any fruits and veggies I would recommend taking a one-a-day multivitamin in which all the % are near 100. Be Well and Goodluck

Carrots; They have more carotene than any fruit or vegetable. (Carotene is what the body converts to vitamin A). And carrots are an excellent source of vitamins B, C, D, E and K, as well as calcium pectate. Calcium pectate is an extraordinary pectin fiber that has cholesterol-lowering properties. They are cheap. Make carrot salad , 4 carrots, shredded 1 apple - peeled, cored and shredded 1 tablespoon lemon juice 2 tablespoons honey 1/4 cup blanched slivered almonds salt and pepper to taste Apples are low cost as well. But they are high in natural sugar. They are a high souce of vit A and C. Celery;Celery is a great guilt-free snack item, especially if you want to lose weight.Celery is a wonderful low-calorie and low-fat vegetable, consisting of about 95% water. When looking at its nutrients, celery contains adequate amounts of potassium, folate and fiber. One cup of diced celery provides 344.4 milligrams of potassium, 34 micrograms of folate, 2 grams of fiber, 19 calories, and less than 0.16 grams of fat! can't think of anything else sorry.. hope this helped.. fresh food is pricey.

vegetable, fruits, nuts, and legumes. The best is all raw, but very very very hard to do. I have tried a little while, but it is tough - absolutely health, but not very enticing. I would mix it up a bit - 50/50 raw and cooked.

Arn't all fermented food is good for health

Arn't all fermented food is good for health?
Do you have to necessarily boil all fermented drink or foods, or is it better withot boiling? What's in fermented food, or drink? Bacteria, virus, or both?

coke, beer, pickles, saur kraut, cheeses, yogurts, lots of things are fermented. Fermentation is caused by yeasts and bacterias. NOT all bacterias are harmful. Some are very beneficial. Do you boil the yogurts? or the cottage cheeses? or beers or wines? NO! we do not have to boil everything. We don't even have to heat it. The heat kills the bacteria or yeast after a certain temperature so it doesn't grow any more. There is NO virus in fermented foods or drinks.
2 :
For the most part yes, especially beer ,wine, and cognac, and .some kimchi and yogurt.except for distillation of brandy ,cognac none of the others are boiled to my knowledge and virus's are not a natural part of any of them though various bacteria are in,buttermilk, yogurt, sauerkraut, sourdough bread and many others that are beneficial to your digestive system.

seitan . . no, it's a meat sustitute made of wheat, it's very good, but it's a substitute for vegans.
2 :
Seitan. It's actually the protein from wheat, gluten. You can make it at home, too, by either buying wheat gluten or a seitan mix. It is pretty tasty, kind of reminiscent of roast beef. :)
3 :
Saytan???? I know you can get Quorn burgers pre made which are meat free, try that, they are okay but personally I always make my own burgers from fresh beef mince,an egg to bind and a few herbs/spices...very tasty and full of iron-plus completely fine on the slimming world diet!
4 :
Seitan. Wheat gluten. "Wheat meat" It's not made from soy, rather it the the protein from wheat. You can make home made seitan from whole wheat flour (maybe white flour, I don't know) by washing away the starchy part. Look up online for a recipe for home made seitan, but it could turn out to be way to much work that way. The best way to make home made seitan is to use 2 cups wheat gluten (comes in power form from the health food store @ about $3/lb) and one cup of whole wheat flour. Mix with 1 1/4 cups warm water and 1/2 cup soy sauce and an optional 2 Tbsps vegetable oil. That may seem like a lot of soy sauce, but it will get boiled away. Mix to make a ball of dough. Rip off chunks of dough, flatten them somewhat and pan fry until golden on both sides and toughening up (10 min). Cover with water (or boil them in a different pot all together) simmer 20-30 min. From this point the seitan can be drained and kept in the fridge for a week. Cut it into strips and saute in steak sauce with onions, peppers and mushrooms. Use chunks in a beef stew like soup. Saute with asian sauces from the grocery store. Saute with veg oil, soy sauce, black pepper and a splash of maple syrup. Possibilites are endless once you get the basic seitan made.

If the health care bill passes will it be cheaper to quit your job if you have a preexisting condition

If the health care bill passes will it be cheaper to quit your job if you have a preexisting condition?
Than pay out more than half of your after tax income on insurance, seems like that's exactly what is going to happen. You will see millions of people quitting their jobs because then they know they will get free health, food, clothes, education, high speed internet, etc. Why work then? Soon there will be no one working and Obama will reach his goal, the destruction of America.

Pre existing conditions will be covered by the health care reform. That means it will no longer be legal for insurance companies to use the pre-existing bullshit they curently do.
2 :
No, I totally disagree, plus this drama (no offense) is not coming from a place of reality or reason or education.
3 :
It doesn't matter. If you have a pre-existing condition they'll take your money (like they do now) and then tell you nothing can be done. Or they'll just prescribe some drugs to keep you docile. Either way, you aren't about to get decent healthcare from an industry dominated by insurance companies.
4 :
well your whole point makes so little sense that i'm just not afraid of your scenario. i won't quit my job - but i bet i save a good chunk of change over what is now paid for my health insurance. right NOW health insurance is my highest single monthly expense - higher than my rent. i'd pay a LOT of tax to eliminate that - because i now pay over $550 per month on health insurance. i'd gladly pay $250 to get rid of my $550 monthly bill.
5 :
IF I WERE AN EMPLOYER AND I HAVE 20 PEOPLE MAKING 30K, I WOULD IMMEDIATELY CANCEL THEIR HEALTH CARE PLAN. I pay $700 a month per employee for health care insurance. That is $252,000.00 per year. If I cancel their insurance I will be fined 8%. That is $200 a month or $48,000.00 a year. Do I have to tell you how much an employer would save? The employees will have but one option "The Government option" i.e. socialized medicine! Now do you understand when B. Boxer tells her base "... we have the language in the bill for the public option..."? No major innovative medical procedure or medicine comes from a socialized system.Read this article and tell me, were will Canadians go to get quality health care if we go the way of the NHS? http://freedomeden.blogspot.com/2010/02/danny-williams-heart-surgery-in-us.html

Could I study food science and nutrition, & then work with clients to improve their health (as a dietitian)

Could I study food science and nutrition, & then work with clients to improve their health (as a dietitian) ?
I want to study what a nutritionist does, but the job of a dietitian is more appealing to me. Is it possible to study nutrition and then work in a clinic that helps people to improve their diets? (Like a Dietitian does). So to sum up can I do a job like this after studying Nutrition ?

A dietitian in many states are required to be licensed, registered. Should that be the case for the state you want to work, then it is unlikely you could be a dietitian. The best thing to do is to contact the state board of medical examiner to ask if dietitian need to be licensed and if so, what activities are reserved for them.
2 :
Not sure where you live but this site might be helpful to you- http://www.eatright.org/HealthProfessionals/content.aspx?id=6859 Nutritionist and registered dietitian are not the same thing, if you somehow become a nutritionist, even though the title is not specified and someone that goes by this title is not always legitimate, then you would not be legally allowed to work as a registered dietitian

They can probably get depressed from getting so damn fat after eating all those chips and cookies. @wicked november, he's right. Your just in denial.
3 :
idc. it taste good. :DD
4 :
Yes, you are. Gluten, which is in wheat, barley and corn, and also casein from milk can cause severe problems with health. These can be in the gut, as well as in the form of brain allergies that can cause symptoms of brain fog, depression, an endorphin reaction rather like taking heroin which includes withdrawal and cravings when you try to quit eating wheat, for example, and in extreme cases, schitzophrenia or seizures. This is not unknown. A diet call G.A.R.D. tells how to avoid gluten and let the gut recover (as explained in at least one website, like the one at dogtorJ.com) and avoid many problems from junk food. Why do you think they call it junk?
5 :
Well the only real health problem the seem to cause is some people seek comfort in eating junk food if they are upset. Or sugar can cause an ADHD child to bounce off the walls. Thats about the only connection I see.
6 :
If they do, then I am the biggest retard in history.
7 :
i dont know if it could cause mental health but it is BAD
8 :
OMG i never thought i'd see the say Staten Island Ferry IS RIGHT Though sadly, Staten, you ARE right. And as to the second poster, the chemical imbalances themselves is what causes depression not being fat. (Though in some(heh most) cases attribute.) not only that but the more you eat junk food, the more permanent impact it had on your health, and if severe enough, can definitely impact you longevity. i could really go on and on and on about this
